All are welcome for a free event Indigenous Wisdom for the Crises of our Time. Sherri Mitchell -Weh’na Ha’mu Kwasset, Indigenous attorney, activist, and author from the Penobscot Nation will be speaking on Sunday, November 30 at 4:00 pm (doors open at 3:30)at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1123 Washington Street, Gloucester (Lanesville). Sherri is the author of the award-winning book, Sacred Instructions; Indigenous Wisdom for Living Spirit-Based Change. The program is organized by the Interfaith Committee of the Cape Ann Climate Coalition.
Drawing from ancestral knowledge, as well as her experience as an attorney and activist, Sherri addresses some of the most crucial issues of our day, such as environmental protection and human rights. For those seeking change, she offers a set of cultural values that will preserve our collective survival for future generations.
